Johnny Likens is a multidisciplinary Creative Director with a focus on design and animation for film and television. After graduating from the College of Design at Iowa State University in 2008 with a BFA in Graphic Design, Johnny soon began a career in New York City crafting high-end motion graphics for commercial, film, and gaming clients. With his background in design, self-taught talent for animation, and photographic eye, he is well known as a highly skilled creative able to craft memorable visuals.

Johnny’s passion for film has led him to design cinematic opening titles for HBO’s “The Night Of,” FX’s “Taboo,” feature film “Collateral Beauty”, and the modern television version of “The Exorcist” on Fox, among others. He also created the terrifying video within the film for Paramount’s “Rings,” and directed multiple promos for the latest season of FX hit “American Horror Story.” He created the holographic UI designs that appear in feature hits such as Marvel’s “Iron Man 3,” “RoboCop,” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” Additionally, Johnny provided design direction for the Netflix documentary “Mission Blue,” and most recently art directed Red Bull’s first feature length documentary “Blood Road” which will be released this year.

Johnny has worked at New York’s top shops including The Mill, Framestore, and now Method Studios; has recently earned a spot on Shots Magazine’s ‘Rising Stars’ list, received a daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Main Title and Graphic Design; and has had work featured in leading industry outlets such as Motionographer, STASH Magazine, CG Society, IdN Magazine, Gizmodo and FXGuide.
